Bypassing Websites

A Spear for an Internet Wall

Bypassing of websites may be needed if a user desires to view a website but his/her Internet access does not allow him/her to. This kind of setting is always done within workplaces that require intensive concentration on the work matter, or if the policies of the company alone do not prevent workers from accessing invalid sites.

Blocking of websites is done in order to keep the employees within their function during office hours. Most of the time, these website restricting functions are turned off during lunch time, breaks and after office hours. This is also done in order to keep employees from using the company resources in performing non-work related tasks. Another issue is to protect the local network system from possible external attacks that may occur. IT related and software development company highly practice this system administration preference in order to fend of malwares, viruses and data theft parties from causing possible damage to the system and the data being stored.

However, since there are times that one has to break away from what he/she is doing in order for him/her to regain momentum to work, he/she seeks for annexes and form of entertainment available. With most of the entertainment, gaming and social networking websites blocked, one may find it difficult or helpless to go around the net. Thanks to web proxies, these dilemmas no longer exist.

Web proxies are applications that enable the user to perform operations over the Internet initially not possible due to the access restrictions being implemented by the system administrator to where his/her computer is connected. These software which are commonly light in size, were only designed to perform one thing: to find an available and unrestricted server or address that would be altered to your connection's original setting. Through that new address, the user would then be able to chat, surf and visit even the websites black listed by the system administrator.

Though there are a variety of Web proxies existing over the Internet today, it would be difficult to find a good one that does not perform subliminal function. Web proxies work by first, turning on your computer. Make sure that your unit has a stable Internet connection. Once connected, do not open any browser yet. Load the proxy application, and then wait as it finds an address or server to which you can be connected. Once it has found one, it would automatically open your Internet Explorer browser leading to the home page of the application's creator.
